Little House in the City

As a lot of you know, my husband and I bought our first home this past fall. Were we crazy to buy a house during a pandemic? Maybe. But we are so happy to finally be moved in and start making it our own. As you can see from the before pictures, we’ve pretty much got ourselves set up how we want, but a lot is still going to change as we renovate rooms, paint walls, and buy new furniture.

This house has so much potential and we are so so excited to start working on it to give it the personality and style that we love. We’re hoping to have the interior almost completely finished by spring so we can focus on the yard. But are you ever really done? I feel like I’m always going to find something that I want to change or buy!

To give you an idea of what to look forward to in my spring home update, we’re hoping to paint everything white. The doors, the trim, the walls, heck even the ceiling once we remove the popcorn. We’re also putting up open shelves in the kitchen (one of the first things we did when we moved in was remove the cabinets). Obviously we are getting a dining room table… And eventually we’d love to change out all the light fixtures to give the house a more updated, modern look. There’s so many projects I want to accomplish in this house from the guest bedroom to the fireplace, but gosh, if I listed them all out we’d be here for days! All in all, I am so thankful and grateful to have this home. We have both worked very hard to be able to purchase a home at our age, and have had so much help, love, and support from the people in our lives. We’re so excited to use this home as a place of gathering to spend time with the people we love, doing the things we love - mainly eating and playing games.
